Wowzer. I appear to have exceeded my text/image limit in the last post, so here's the bit that should have been tacked on the end....
If you're about to move house, or change up a room, try to start with an inspiration piece and work your colour palette around it. It could be a piece of art, a favourite photograph, a cushion or a special treasure. Inspiration can start with almost anything! Get your colour swatch together and slip it in your purse, you'll be amazed at how quickly your eyes become accustomed to picking up the relevant colours, whether 'home shopping' or out looking for new pieces to bring home. I've been known to spot an orange candle holder through a crowded room in .05 seconds!
If you feel like you don't know where to start at all, have a closer look. Is there alot of one colour peeking through the mismatched decor? Run with what you've got instead of replacing everything, especially if you're trying to stick to a non existent budget!
So how are you feeling about your bedroom? Is it reflecting the mood you want in there? Are there textures to please your eyes and fingertips (woo woot ;o) Is it terribly beige (and I'm not just referring to the colour here...)? Or is it sexy and vibrant??
Make it your own personal/shared sanctuary!
